QPWB Orlando attorney, Robin Khanal, presented a seminar entitled "Residents' Desires vs. Facility Safety Measures: Are Negotiated Risk Agreements the Answer?" Sponsored by the National Center for Assisted Living at the 56th Annual Convention of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) / National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The seminar addressed the concerns of whether negotiated risk agreements work in the assisted living setting and included the key contract principles necessary to ensure the best possible chance for agreement enforcement. A step-by-step approach to ensure enforceability and how to avoid the pitfalls of forming an unenforceable contract was presented.
QPWB's Miami office joined forces with members of the South Florida legal community to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina by sponsoring an event at the Hyatt Regency with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross.
