Quintairos, Prieto,
Wood & Boyer Names
3 Partners in Miami Office
MIAMI, Dec. 3, 2003
Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer P.A. today
announced it has named Ann H. King, Catherine B. Parks
and Michael R. Ragan partners in its Miami office.
Kings areas of
practice include civil litigation, commercial litigation,
insurance defense, general liability, medical malpractice,
nursing-home defense litigation and professional liability.
Prior to joining the
firm, King was an associate with Daniels, Kashtan, Downs
& Oramas in Coral Gables, Fla. Before this, she
was an associate with the Miami firm Walton Lantaff
Schroeder & Carson.
King holds a law degree
from the University of Miami, School of Law and a bachelors
degree in political science from the University of California
in Los Angeles.
Parks areas of
practice include insurance defense, mass tort litigation,
medical malpractice and nursing-home defense litigation.
Before joining the
firm, Parks was an associate with Blackwell & Walker
and Lanza & OConner. She began her legal career
with Thornton, David & Murray. Parks is the author
of "The Comprehensive Medical Malpractice Reform
Act of 1985."
She holds a law degree
from the University of Miami School of Law and a bachelors
degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill.
Ragan represents physicians, dentists
and nurses in civil and administrative litigation, hospital
and nursing-home defense litigation, insurance coverage
issues and health-care regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining the firm, Ragan spent
nine years in the insurance industry. At GE Employers
Reinsurance Company in Overland Park, KS, where he supervised
the underwriting of multiple insurance lines, including
primary and excess liability insurance for physicians,
dentists and allied health professionals. Before this,
he worked with CNA HealthPro in Chicago, IL, where he
managed health-care professional liability claims for
physicians, dentists, hospitals and managed-care organizations.
Before this, Ragan practiced law with
Fisher, Rushmer in Orlando, Fla., where he represented
health-care professionals and hospitals in professional
liability and administrative hearings.
Ragan holds a doctorate in dental medicine
from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental
Medicine, a masters degree in health law from
Loyola University College of Law, a law degree from
Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelors
degree in science from Syracuse University.
