Steve E. Baker is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood, & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Baker has extensive experience in handling complex administrative, civil, and professional liability claims. Mr. Baker has litigated hundreds of cases in the areas of medical and professional malpractice, nursing home and assisted living facility defense, automobile claims, premises liability, personal injury, and wrongful death claims.

Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Baker was a founding partner of Romaguera, Baker, Dawson & Bringardner, P.A., where he represented numerous healthcare providers, corporations, institutional clients, and insurance companies in matters involving administrative, professional and general civil liability claims.

Mr. Baker's civil practice includes the defense of private individuals, corporations, healthcare providers, hospitals, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, home health and nurse staffing agencies, commercial carriers, rental car companies, public agencies and institutions, and insurance carriers.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Mr. Baker received his Bachelor of Science in 1992 and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in 1998. While in law school, he was a member of the University of Florida Trial Team, The Chester Bedell American Inn of Court, a charter member of the Florida Law Toastmasters, and Florida Blue Key Honor Fraternity. Mr. Baker achieved distinction in law school by attaining the Book Award in Trial Practice and being named in Who's Who Among American Law Students.

Mr. Baker was admitted to practice law in Florida in 1998 and has subsequently been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Health Law and Trial Lawyers section of the Florida Bar. He is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Florida Chapter of the National Bar Association, the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Florida Healthcare Association.

In his community, Mr. Baker serves on the Board of Managers of the Wayne Densch YMCA Family Center, and is a member of the Winter Park Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Baker also serves on various advisory committees for skilled nursing facilities and frequently lectures to various groups, healthcare providers, and claims professionals on risk management issues and current litigation trends in Florida.
