Ramon E. Javier is an associate in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. His areas of practice are insurance defense; construction litigation, including construction claims and construction defects; professional malpractice defense; personal injury defense; automobile negligence; trucking liability; premises liability; and white-collar criminal defense.
He received his Associate in Arts in 1989 and his Bachelor of Arts in 1991 from New York University. In 1995, Mr. Javier earned a Juris Doctorate from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where he was the professional articles editor of the Journal of the Suffolk Academy of Law.
Mr. Javier is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York, and the District of Columbia. He is also licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, United States Court of Claims, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
Mr. Javier first practiced law as a staff attorney with the Criminal Defense Division of the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County, New York. Thereafter, he entered the private practice of law on Wall Street where he represented clients in state and federal criminal matters, commercial transactions and entertainment law. In 2000, Mr. Javier relocated to Miami, Florida and was an Assistant State Attorney at the Office of the State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami, Florida. There, Mr. Javier was an assistant chief in the career criminal/robbery unit. During his tenure at the State Attorney’s office Mr. Javier prosecuted and tried a myriad of cases including homicides, armed burglaries, and robberies. In 2003, he joined the Miami litigation group of Mintzer, Sarowitz, Zeris, Ledva & Meyers, LLP where he focused exclusively in insurance defense and represented individuals and corporations in multi-million dollar claims in the areas of wrongful death and catastrophic injuries, professional malpractice (design professionals), construction defects litigation, and products liability (Food Service Industry).
Mr. Javier is a member of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee in the 11th Judicial Circuit. He is also a certified arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau – Auto Line Program.
