Jane Thornton Mastrucci is a partner at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. and practices from the firm's Miami office. Her areas of practice are nursing home defense litigation, as well as hospital, insurance, and medical malpractice defense litigation. She is also among a handful of lawyers in Florida with significant experience in nursing home administrative law.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies magna cum laude in 1975, Ms. Mastrucci earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1978. She first practiced law at her father's firm in 1978 and later became a senior partner at Thornton & Mastrucci, P.A. in Coral Gables, Florida. Ms. Mastrucci joined QPWB in 2001 and was admitted as a partner July 1, 2002. She has been assigned an AV-rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability.
Ms. Mastrucci co-authored four articles with her father, John W. Thornton, Sr., and has given numerous presentations in the nursing home and healthcare fields. She is listed in Who's Who and Why of Successful Florida Women, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who, Women in American Law, and Who's Who, Women in Florida Law.
Ms. Mastrucci is admitted to practice law in Florida. She is a member of The Florida Bar’s Administrative Law Section and Trial Lawyers Section; and she is also a member of the Defense Research Institute. Ms. Mastrucci served as Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section - Committee on Excess, Surplus & Reinsurance Law. She is a past member of A.I.D.A's Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society (U.S. Chapter). In 1991, she was initiated as a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel.
In her community, Ms. Mastrucci has provided pro-bono legal services at Coconut Grove Outreach since 1991.
