William K. Pratt II is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. and concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance defense, premises liability, personal injury defense, automobile and commercial fleet liability claims, medical malpractice, and wrongful death claims. Mr. Pratt handles all aspects of discovery, trial and appeals.
Mr. Pratt has significant experience in the areas of factual investigation involving suspicious losses with special emphasis on fraudulent automobile claims, including staged accidents. His knowledge and skills in handling Special Investigative Unit (“SIU”) insurance fraud litigation also include actions on behalf of insurers against claimants and lay-owners of “medical clinics” in violation of insurance fraud statutes, for acts of theft, common law fraud and illegal and unlicensed practice of medicine.
Before joining QPWB, Mr. Pratt was a litigation attorney with Kingsford & Rock in Maitland, Florida, practicing in the areas of insurance defense and SIU litigation. Previously, he was a trial attorney with Moriarty & Associates and with Cameron, Hodges, Coleman, LaPointe & Wright, P.A. focusing his practice in the area of PIP Insurance Defense Litigation.
Mr. Pratt earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1996 from the University of Central Florida and his Juris Doctor in 2000 from Thomas Cooley Law School, in Lansing, Michigan.
Mr. Pratt is a member of The Florida Bar and Medical Claims Defense Network. He is also licensed to practice in Florida before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
