Thomas A. Valdez is a partner in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Valdez focuses his practice on all aspects of the defense of long term care, medical malpractice, general liability and commercial claims in both state and federal courts. In these areas, he has successfully represented clients in litigation, alternative dispute resolution, trial and appellate matters.
Mr. Valdez has lectured extensively on health care issues at the local, state and national level. He has been a guest speaker at several conferences attended by health care industry groups, health care professionals, attorneys and clients.
Mr. Valdez first joined Quintairos, McCumber, Prieto & Wood, P.A., in 1998, and became a partner in 2002. In 2003, he left the firm to become a founding partner in the firm of McCumber, Inclan, Daniels, Valdez, Buntz & Ferrera, P.A., before returning to Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., in 2006.
A 1991 graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Finance), Mr. Valdez earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude from the Florida State University College of Law in 1997.
During law school he served as the President of the Florida State University Moot Court Team, was an active member of the Spanish-American Law Student Association, and was recognized for outstanding advocacy, leadership and pro bono work.
Mr. Valdez is a member of the Florida Bar, the Pennsylvania Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
